Maar soms<br \/>\nziet het bevoegd gezag (het schoolbestuur) geen andere uitweg dan een leerling te<br \/>\nschorsen of zelfs te verwijderen. Het is dan in het belang van alle partijen &#8211; de leerling, zijn ouders, het bevoegd gezag en de school &#8211; dat de regels en procedures die de onderwijswetten<br \/>\nvoorschrijven, zorgvuldig worden uitgevoerd, en worden ingekaderd in beschreven schoolbeleid. Het bevoegd gezag van een school heeft de bevoegdheid leerlingen toe te laten, te schorsen en te verwijderen.
