De huidige Minister van Onderwijs, Wetenschap, Cultuur en Sport mevr. Marilyn Alcal&aacute;-Wall&eacute; is in die periode als ambtenaar nauw betrokken geweest bij de oprichting van FPI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De FPI heeft bij haar oprichting ook de taken overgenomen van het voormalige overheidsbureau Sede di Papiamentu.<br \/>De Stichting is actief geweest in het ontwikkelen, voorbereiden, reguleren en ondersteunen van het lokale taalbeleid (Papiamentu, Nederlands, Engels en Spaans), waarbij het accent lag bij Papiamentu.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De taalbevorderende en taalplanningsactiviteiten waren gericht op drie aandachtsgebieden:<br \/>1. statusplanning (taalbeleid en taalonderzoek);<br \/>2. corpusplanning (taalbehoud en taalmodernisering);<br \/>3. distributieplanning (taal, onderwijs en media).<\/p>\n<p>Het ontwikkelen van beleid is een taak des overheid en op dit moment is het Kabinet Rhuggenaath bezig met de uitvoering (en waar nodig aanpassing) van het taalbeleid dat in 2017 is goedgekeurd in de Raad van Ministers.<\/p>\n<p>De FPI wordt gesubsidieerd door de overheid. In de periode van 2010-2018 heeft de Stichting ongeveer fl. 8 miljoen- ontvangen van de overheid.<br \/>Momenteel is de regering bezig met een evaluatie van de taken die worden uitbesteed aan de verschillende van overheidswege gesubsidieerde instellingen. De vraag bij elke entiteit is: wat krijgen we terug voor het geld?
