Met deze belangrijke stap wil het ACOC samenwerken met verschillende partners om op gezamenlijke wijze dit ernstige probleem aan te pakken. Het ACOC heeft gezamenlijk met partners binnen de rechtshandhavingsketen besloten om illegaal vuurwapenbezit en -smokkel tot een prioriteit te maken. Dit initiatief is gebaseerd op de groeiende zorgen omtrent vuurwapengerelateerde misdrijven van de afgelopen tijd en de impact die ze hebben op onze samenleving.<\/p>\n<p>De kick-off van dit thema markeert het begin van een intensieve samenwerking tussen verschillende stakeholders. Deze zijn het Openbaar Ministerie Cura\u00e7ao, het Korps Politie Cura\u00e7ao, de Douane, de Kustwacht, de Koninklijke Marechaussee, het RST, Interpol, Ministerie van Justitie en Douane. Door gezamenlijk op te treden, kan informatie worden uitgewisseld, expertise worden gedeeld en effectieve strategie\u00ebn worden ontwikkeld om illegaal vuurwapenbezit en -smokkel te bestrijden. Tijdens de kick-off wordt gewerkt aan het identificeren van risico&#8217;s en het ontwikkelen van preventieve en repressieve maatregelen. Verder wordt ook gekeken naar het bestuurlijk instrumentarium dat ingezet kan worden om deze criminaliteitsvorm aan te pakken.
