Willemstad – Minister-president Gilmar Pisas en de regering van Cura\u00e7ao volgen de situatie in onze regio op de voet en zijn voortdurend in contact met onze partners, zowel binnen het Koninkrijk als internationaal.<\/span><\/p>\n

De afgelopen dagen hebben zich enkele incidenten voorgedaan tussen civiele en militaire vliegtuigen in het luchtruim van Cura\u00e7ao. Minister-president Pisas neemt deze incidenten zeer serieus, mede gezien de risico’s op een ongeval in het luchtruim van Cura\u00e7ao.<\/span><\/p>\n

Na contact met de Amerikaanse consul-generaal op Cura\u00e7ao heeft de minister-president bevestiging gekregen dat diverse Amerikaanse overheidsinstanties, waaronder het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, het \u2018U.S. southern Command\u2019 en de \u2018Federal Aviation Administration\u2019 (FAA), in gesprek zijn met de \u2018Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider\u2019 (DC-ANSP) om te voorkomen dat dit soort incidenten zich opnieuw voordoen op Cura\u00e7ao.<\/span><\/p>\n

Minister-president Pisas heeft de verzekering gekregen dat de lucht- en zeevaart autoriteiten de civiele en militaire luchtverkeer situatie nauwlettend in de gaten zullen houden. Er werd met name afgesproken dat Amerikaanse militaire vliegtuigen hun transponder in ons luchtruim zullen inschakelen, zodat ze zichtbaar zijn voor de lokale luchtverkeer autoriteiten. <\/span>De Amerikaanse vertegenwoordiging heeft ook contact opgenomen met verschillende luchtvaartmaatschappijen en cruisemaatschappijen om ervoor te zorgen dat zij goed ge\u00efnformeerd zijn over de laatste ontwikkelingen en dat er maatregelen worden genomen om een \u200b\u200bveilige en ordelijke doorstroming van het lucht- en scheepvaartverkeer te garanderen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tot slot wil minister-president Pisas benadrukken dat er geen aanwijzingen zijn voor een direct gevaar voor Cura\u00e7ao en dat hij de situatie nauwlettend blijft volgen. Hij benadrukt nogmaals dat veiligheid voor hem voorop staat en dat de regering de gemeenschap zal blijven informeren wanneer er nieuwe ontwikkelingen zijn.<\/span><\/p>\n

Air traffic safety update in Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Willemstad – Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas and the government of Cura\u00e7ao are closely monitoring the situation in our region and are in constant contact with our partners, both within the Kingdom and internationally.<\/p>\n

In recent days, several incidents have occurred between civil and military aircraft in Cura\u00e7aoan airspace. Prime Minister Pisas takes these incidents very seriously, particularly given the risk of an accident in Cura\u00e7aoan airspace.<\/p>\n

After contacting the U.S. Consul General in Cura\u00e7ao, Prime Minister Pisas received confirmation that various U.S. government agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. Southern Command, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), are in discussions with the Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC-ANSP) to prevent similar incidents from occurring again in Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister was assured that aviation and maritime authorities will closely monitor the situation regarding civil and military air traffic. Specifically, it was agreed that US military aircraft will activate their transponders in our airspace, making them visible to local air traffic authorities.<\/p>\n

The US delegation has also contacted various airlines and cruise lines to ensure they are well-informed about the latest developments and that measures are being taken to ensure the safe and orderly flow of air and maritime traffic.<\/p>\n

Finally, Prime Minister Pisas emphasizes that there are no indications of immediate danger to Cura\u00e7ao and that he will continue to closely monitor the situation. He reiterates that safety is his top priority and that the government will continue to inform the community of any new developments.<\/p>\n
