WILLEMSTAD \u2013\u00a0\u00a0Op maandag 9 februari 2026 hebben bestuurders van het Stichting OCAN een officieel bezoek gebracht aan de Gouverneur van Cura\u00e7ao, Zijne Excellentie Mauritsz de Kort.<\/p>\n

Namens OCAN waren aanwezig dhr. Lionel Martijn \u2013 Directeur en dhr. Gilberto Morishaw \u2013 Voorzitter van de Raad van Toezicht.<\/p>\n

Tijdens het gesprek zijn uiteenlopende thema\u2019s besproken die relevant zijn voor Caribische Nederlanders in Nederland en de band binnen het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden.<\/p>\n

OCAN zet zich in voor de positieverbetering van Caribische Nederlanders en aanverwante doelgroepen in Nederland door middel van projecten, belangenbehartiging en activiteiten op zowel lokaal als interregionaal niveau. De organisatie biedt advies, overleg, projectuitvoering en maatschappelijke ondersteuning op diverse terreinen, waaronder: advocacy (belangenbehartiging), persoonlijke en talentontwikkeling, arbeidsmarktparticipatie, ondernemerschap, opvoedingsondersteuning, het bestrijden van discriminatie en racisme, sociaal-maatschappelijke begeleiding, evenementen en thema-dialoogbijeenkomsten.<\/p>\n

Het bezoek aan de Gouverneur was een waardevolle gelegenheid om wederzijds begrip en samenwerking te versterken en de brug te slaan tussen maatschappelijke belangenbehartiging en bestuurlijke betrokkenheid vanuit het Caribisch deel van het Koninkrijk.<\/p>\n
